Why should you be planting Wild Game Buffet? Wild Game Buffet is an all purpose perennial blend.  It grows well in almost any soil type. Also it can be planted in both sun and shade. It contains primarily clovers with some cold hearty alfalfa also. It also has a percentage of annual cover crop brassicas. The reason for the cover crop is to protect from over grazing and provide extra food while the perennial seeds are getting established. Also Wild Game Buffet can be planted no till so it is a great mix for trails and smaller food plots. It can be planted by frost seeding, in spring or fall. However the Wild Game Buffet mix does need some moisture and will turn out best with timely rains. If you want your WGB plot to be the best make sure your soil pH is 6.5 to 7.5. Be sure and get a soil test. A recommended fertilizer is 200lbs per acre of 8-24-24. After the first year it can be mowed every now and then to control grass and weeds.

Wild Game Buffet is one of the most versatile perennials mixes. If you have a small area that you are thinking about turning into a food plot you need to give the Frigid Forage Wild Game Buffet a try.
