Antler Shed Hunting Update

Posted by David on Mar 1st 2015

I got out shed hunting for the first time this year and talk about great conditions! With the low snow cover it was easy walking and really easy to see. I personally didn't find an antlers but my other two friends beat me to four of them. Two matched sets. Although they were sheds of younger deer it is still a rewarding find. One set was a small six point and the other a small eight. All four antlers were found within 25 yards of a food plot. We searched alot of thick cover and came out empty handed. I'm definetly going to try and get out this coming weekend again. It is probably a little early yet and we had some visual sighting of big bucks still holding onto there racks. My Browning trail cameras showed about half of the bucks with antlers also. I really enjoyed getting back out in the woods and getting some much needed fresh air. If you have some time in the near future I encourage you to get out there and do some shed hunting.
