I purchased this camera hoping it was tweaking last year's BTC5HDE (Elite). They did increase the detection zone which is great. They also increased the flash range. The problem is that now the shutter speed is slower at around 1/20 second which increases blur on the night pictures. The extra flash cause me to have to darken pics to view the images better.
Additionally, this camera now relies on higher ISO speeds. That causes more static in the night images as well. The daytime images are OK, but they seem to lack the crispness and the color is somewhat subdued.
For the money, it is OK and it boasts a longer battery life and larger SD card storage. For my needs it feels like a step backwards from the ELITE.
The images are much better at night on the 2016 BTC5HDE.

Great trail camera in every way! So far it seems the battery life is great. Takes top quality pics. Best sensors and trigger times! Will be getting more.
